The short version
Your complete history lives on your Mac. When Remsen uses AI, we have strict zero-data-retention agreements with model providers for inference. Remsen never stores messages, prompts, responses, or any other personal information from AI requests. Its AI relay is structurally unable to do so.
1. Your archive is local
With the permissions you grant, Remsen reads supported local sources such as iMessage, WhatsApp, and Calendar. Its durable archive, search index, relationship state, reminders, generated documents, agent history, settings, and cached entitlement are stored on your Mac. These files are protected by your macOS account and the security of your device, including FileVault when you enable it.
2. What leaves for AI work
When Remsen uses AI, we have strict zero-data-retention agreements with model providers for inference. Remsen never stores messages, prompts, responses, or any other personal information from AI requests. Its AI relay is structurally unable to do so.
3. Features you choose to use
Web research
Web research runs only when you ask for it. The search provider receives the query Remsen creates for that request.
Remsen for Work over iMessage
When you turn on away-from-Mac access, messages pass through Remsen’s hosted iMessage delivery service. Offline requests are sealed before temporary queueing, and they expire. Your Mac must reconnect to process them. The Work plan uses a verified shared Remsen service, not a dedicated personal number.
4. Account, billing, and support data
We process the name and email address you provide, subscription status, plan, billing customer and subscription identifiers, and support correspondence. Stripe processes payment-card details and supplies Remsen with billing status and limited payment metadata; Remsen does not receive or store your full card number.
5. Private content is never telemetry
Telemetry never includes message bodies, contact names from your archive, calendar contents, memory notes, generated documents, prompts, responses, or payment-card details.
Remsen records operational events for onboarding, reliability, feature use, and billing conversion. Those events can include the name and email you provide, an installation identifier, event names, counts, timing, app and macOS versions, AI usage totals, and error categories.
6. Why we process information
- To provide the local relationship agent and the features you request.
- To authenticate the app, prevent abuse, and keep the service reliable.
- To manage subscriptions, trials, cancellations, and failed payments.
- To respond to support requests and improve product quality.
- To comply with law and protect users, Remsen, and the public.
7. Service providers
Remsen uses specialist providers for cloud routing, AI inference, billing, web research, iMessage delivery, email, and product measurement. Each receives only the information needed to perform that function.
8. Retention and deletion
Local Remsen data remains on your Mac until you remove it or uninstall and delete the relevant application-support data. Cloud operational, account, billing, support, security, and telemetry records are retained only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes above and legal obligations. Payment records may be retained by Stripe as required for financial and legal compliance.
Canceling a subscription does not automatically erase local data. Contact support to request deletion of Remsen account records; some billing and security records may need to be retained.
9. Security
Remsen uses transport encryption, authenticated relays, restricted secrets, and local file protections. Keep macOS updated, enable FileVault, protect your account and device, and tell us promptly if you believe your account or Remsen access has been compromised.
10. Your choices and rights
You choose which macOS permissions and services to enable. You may disconnect sources, decline phone access, cancel billing, and request access to or deletion of account data. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights. Remsen does not sell your data.
11. Changes and contact
We may update this notice as Remsen changes. We will update the date above and provide additional notice when a material change requires it. Questions and privacy requests can be sent to privacy@useremsen.com.
